Each February half term, we offer our learners the opportunity to take part in the Honywood Ski trip to Austria.  We find that Austria provides learners with excellent value for money, superb snow and ski conditions and extremely hospitable accommodation. The trip is offered to those in Cohorts 9, 10 and 11 and offers learners of all abilities the chance to experience six days of skiing lessons.  The trip offers a fantastic opportunity to discover a different culture and sample the experience of skiing abroad.

The trip is supported by members of staff who are all experienced in taking school trips both at home and abroad. The staff members provide extra support to learners during ski lessons. Evening entertainment is a big part of the ski trip and we arrange a programme with activities such as bowling, quiz night and trips to local restaurants.

On average we take 70 learners on the annual trip. The ski lessons in the resort are taken by qualified ski instructors.  This means that during the ski lessons, learners are split into groups according to their ability allowing for excellent progress throughout the week’s lessons.  Lessons take place on a variety of slopes and most learners make significant progress throughout the week.
